JAWAZ Student ID Card

Dubai International Academic City (DIAC) and Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority (DTMFZA) offer all students enrolled at DIAC and Dubai Knowledge Village (DKV) universities a unique student ID and lifestyle card named 'JAWAZ', which means 'passport' in Arabic. 

JAWAZ is mandatory (www.tecom.ae/law/law_24.htm) and is the official student identity card recognised by DTMFZA with co branding of DIAC and the university that the student is enrolled at. JAWAZ also offers DIAC and DKV students a wide range of benefits and discounts on dining, shopping, travel, entertainment, fitness, learning and much more.

TECOM has partnered with the AMAAL Group (member of Belhasa International), to handle the production and incentive aspects of the JAWAZ card. The AMAAL Group has an impressive portfolio of benefits from various local service providers in the UAE and provides customised benefits which cater to the needs of students. In addition, students can download a mobile application on their smartphone for easy access to JAWAZ information.

'Jawaz' - FAQs 


Q. What does JAWAZ mean?

JAWAZ means "passport" in Arabic. This card is your passport to a world of opportunities and benefits in DIAC, Dubai and if you are carrying it around DIAC, you do not need to carry your passport.

Q. Am I eligible for a JAWAZ Card? 

If you are a full time student enrolled in a DIAC or DKV University, you can apply for a Jawaz Card. 

Q. Who can get the JAWAZ Card? 

The JAWAZ card is available to all full time students enrolled in a university program at DIAC or DKV. 

Q. How can I get my JAWAZ card? 

Sponsored Students 

Sponsored students receive their Jawaz card as part of their student visa package. For more details please contact your universities administration department. 

Non-Sponsored Students 

If you are a non-sponsored student you can still apply for JAWAZ membership directly on www.myjawaz.ae and fulfill the document requirements:

  1. Scanned copy of valid passport 
  2. Scanned copy of visa page 
  3. Scanned passport photo (jpeg format) 

Once you receive an approval email, you can then visit DIAC Student Hub, located in DIAC Block 6, ground floor to complete payment 

Q. Who are Sponsored Students and who are non-sponsored students? 

Sponsored Students are students sponsored by the Authority and non-sponsored students are students whose visa falls under their parents, their work, or their spouse. 

Q. How much does the JAWAZ card cost? 

For sponsored students: The card price is included at the time you apply for your visa and the cost is AED 150. 
For non sponsored students: The card price is AED 150. 

Q. What is the validity of my Jawaz card? 

JAWAZ is valid for one year only from the date of issue 

Q. I am a sponsored student; how do I renew my card?
 
You will receive a new JAWAZ card while renewing your visa. For more details please contact your universities administration department. 

Q. I am a non sponsored student; how do I renew my card? 

If you are a non sponsored student and you want to renew your card, you need to:

Q. How do I gain access to the DIAC Recreation Room (located in DIAC, Block 6)? 

Just present your Jawaz card to security. 

Q. What are the timings for the DIAC Recreation Room? 

Timings are from 08:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.; Saturday to Thursday 

Q. When should I cancel my JAWAZ card? 

Students no longer enrolled in a DIAC university should automatically return their JAWAZ card. Sponsored Students should return their JAWAZ card to their University once they cancel their Visa. 

Non-Sponsored Students should return their JAWAZ card to DIAC Student Hub, located in DIAC Block 6, ground floor. 
No refunds are given for cancellation of JAWAZ card. 

Q. What happens if I want to leave the university before the end of the academic year? 

If you choose to leave your university before the end of the Academic Year, you need to return your card: 

Sponsored Students 

Return your Jawaz card to your university administration department. 

Non-Sponsored Students 

Return your Jawaz card to DIAC Student Hub, located in DIAC Block 6, ground floor. 

Q. What happens if my JAWAZ card is lost or stolen? 

Sponsored Students

Q. Do I have to have JAWAZ? Can I use my university ID instead? 

The JAWAZ card is mandatory for all students enrolled in a DIAC university. The card design has been developed to reflect the branding of DIAC and the University that the holder is enrolled in. 

Q. What if I find a lost JAWAZ card? 

If you find a lost JAWAZ ID Card, please return the card to: DIAC Student Hub, located in DIAC Block 6, ground floor. 
You are not supposed to use the JAWAZ card at any point. If found using a card that does not belong to you, strict penalties will be applied.
